Motor Vehicle Crash in Collinwood Township

On Saturday morning at 4:29 A.M., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the 73000 block of CSAH 6 of Collinwood Township. Meeker County Deputies, Wright County Deputies, Dassel Fire and Rescue, Mayo Ambulance, and Cokato Ambulance all responded to the scene.

Deputies from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office were in the area for a transport and assisted until Meeker County Deputies arrived. The driver, 18-year-old Marlon Guillen-Sarmiento of Willmar, drove off the roadway and struck a pole. Guillen-Sarmiento’s driving privileges were suspended at the time of the crash. Guillen-Sarmiento sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. A juvenile passenger was not injured as a result of the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
