Songs of Summer Festival One Week Away
The Songs of Summer Festival in Litchfield will be held one week from today. The gates will open for the event at 4 p.m. on August 15th in Memorial Park by Lake Ripley.
Sarah Jones says the music begins at 5 p.m. with Michael Shynes, followed by South 40 and then the Fabulous Armadillos, and it’s a free event, but freewill donations will be accepted. She says it’s a great way for the community to come together, enjoy some great music and support local youth organizations.
Amanda Nelson says this year, funds will help the 4H Dog Project, Boy Scout Troop 353, and the Spitfire Special Olympics Team. She says raffle tickets are still available at Mid Country Bank in Litchfield and from any board member and there will be a drawing by the Litchfield Watercade and junior royalty at 8 p.m. on August 15th with three $500 prizes, one $200 prize, one $100 prize and three $50 prizes.
Nelson says they have many great sponsors who help to make the Songs of Summer Festival possible and if anyone wants to make a donation towards the event, checks may be sent to Post Office Box 253 in Litchfield. She says they can also use more board members.
Nelson says there will be lots of food vendors at the event. The Songs of Summer Festival is coming up on August 15th at Memorial Park in Litchfield with gates opening at 4 p.m. and music starting at 5 p.m.
