Spicer Man Trapped in Grain Bin
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded Thursday afternoon at 1:24 to a report of a 65-year-old Spicer man being trapped in a grain bin. The incident was reported in the 5000 block of 22nd Street Southwest – just southwest of Willmar.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that the man was up to his chest in soybeans and unable to extricate himself. Members of the ambulance service, rescue squad and fire department were able to safely remove him from the bin. He was transported to CentraCare Rice Hospital.
Assisting the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office were the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, CentraCare Ambulance, Willmar Fire Dept., Willmar Fire Dept. Technical Rescue Team and Life Link helicopter.
