Spicer Winter Fest Activities

Spicer has been celebrating its Winter Fest this month, and the bulk of the activities will be held tomorrow. The community has once again constructed an ice castle on Saulsbury Beach.
The castle is especially festive to observe in the dark as it’s illuminated with colorful lights. It will be the focal point of many of this weekend’s activities in Spicer. There will be sledding by the ice castle Saturday from noon-to-6, skating on Green Lake from noon-to-6, kite-flying from noon-to-6, and food vendors from noon-to-6.
Other activities tomorrow in Spicer include a plane fly-in on Green Lake from 1-to-5 – weather permitting; skate & sign with the Willmar War Hawks from 2-to-3 p.m.; tractor pulled hay rides from 2-to-4 p.m.; a visit by Disney friends from 2-to-4 p.m.; face-painting from 3-to-5; live music from 3-to-6; a bonfire on the beach from 4-to-6 p.m.; and fireworks at 6 p.m. – followed by the 7th annual Winter Fest dance in the tent on Saulsbury Beach.
One of the main events tomorrow in Spicer will be the Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics. It will begin at noon on Green Lake in front of Saulsbury Beach. Registration will begin at the Spicer American Legion tomorrow at 9 a.m.
