St. Philip’s School Busy with February Activities

St. Philip’s Catholic School students were busy at the end of January with Catholic Schools Week. The School also had a big fundraiser on February 1st which was well-attended.
Principal Andrea Dietrich says the Believe It Achieve It event included a great banquet and terrific music which helped raise funds for the school. She says the students are learning about a different virtue each month, and February’s virtue is honesty which means being trustworthy and true.
5th grader Freya says they are learning about Saint Valentine this month as Valentine’s Day is approaching and he was an Italian doctor in the 3rd century who helped people arrange marriages at a time when it was outlawed by Roman law. She says she enjoyed Catholic Schools Week at the end of January and especially enjoyed their field trip to St. Cloud.
5th grader Cash says he especially enjoyed playing bingo on January 31st during Catholic Schools Week.
Cash says Mrs. Dietrich was a great bingo caller. He says they are looking forward to Discovery Day at St. Philip’s School on February 27th at 9:15 a.m. when they will have visitors from the Hemker Zoo, and all area 3-to-5-year-old children are welcome to attend.
