St. Philip’s School Marathon Fundraiser

The students and staff at St. Philip’s Catholic School in Litchfield are back into the routine of another school year, and are getting ready for their annual Marathon fundraiser. School started at the same time as the public school – the week before Labor Day weekend.

Principal Andrea Dietrich says the goal for this year’s Marathon is $70,000 so any donations to the School of St. Philip would be greatly appreciated, and the students will be walking around Litchfield on October 2nd. She says the day before that, the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will be joining students from two other area Catholic schools on a field trip to New Ulm.

Dietrich says some of the sites that they will see in New Ulm will include the Way of the Cross and Herman the German. She says St. Philip’s started a preschool this fall and the enrollment is full, but families are still welcome to check it out for future openings.

5th graders Henry, Isaac and Cooper all started at the school when they were in Kindergarten. Henry says he enjoys math and going on field trips. Isaac says he also enjoys math and the buddy system they have between 5th graders and Kindergarteners. Cooper says he likes reading and he likes how friendly everybody is at the School of St. Philip.
