State Civil War Roundtable

The Meeker County Historical Society is getting ready to host the state Civil War Roundtable on April 27th. It will be held at the Litchfield Opera House from 9-to-3:30.

G.A.R. Hall and Meeker County Museum Executive Director Danelle Erickson says a deadline for ordering tickets with lunch included has been extended to April 14th. She says the event is $35 if you want lunch, and it’s $20 to just attend the meeting and you can get the $20 tickets at the door. There is a link on the Museum’s Facebook page and website for the $35 tickets.

Erickson says, because of the big event on April 27th, they are not having their Civil War Roundtable next week, but it will return the second Thursday in May at 1:30 p.m. She says there will be some interesting speakers at the April 27th event.

Erickson says the G.A.R. Hall will be featured on KSTP-TV (Channel 5) on April 9th at 9 a.m. in a segment called “Must See Museums.” She says the Historical Society is getting ready to host the annual Memorial Day Picnic on May 27th at the Litchfield Opera House from 11-to-1:30 and there is information on their website, meekercomuseum.org, about how to be a sponsor for that event.

The Meeker County Museum is located at 308 North Marshall Avenue in Litchfield. It’s open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10-to-4 and Saturdays from noon-to-4.
