Tickets Available for “High School Musical”

The Litchfield High School Drama Dept. presents Disney’s “High School Musical” on October 29th, 30th and 31st at 7 p.m. and on November 1st at 2 p.m. in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium. Tickets are $11 for adults and $6 for students.
Director Sara Dollerschell says tickets are available in advance through the Bound system which can be accessed on the Litchfield School District website via the activities and calendar tabs or contact Darcy at Litchfield High School. Tickets will also be sold at the door. She says the students have been rehearsing since the first week of school and it’s interesting as they are portraying themselves in a way as high school students, but the show helps them see that they can try other roles besides the stereotypical roles that students are sometimes labeled with.
Dollerschell says their Saturday night show falls on Halloween, but it’s a family-friendly show, so children should do their trick-or-treating and then come to the show in their costumes. She says a lot of the students have other activities that they need to juggle in order to be in the show.
Viola Pennertz says she mostly focuses on the theater in the fall, but dance is starting this week and besides being on stage in “High School Musical,” she is also the co-choreographer. She says she’s in the role of Gabriella Montez.
Pennertz says this is her 21st show as she’s been in numerous Litchfield Community Theatre summer musicals and high school musicals and one-act plays. Emma Defries says she started doing theater with “Footloose” her freshman year. She says her character in “High School Musical” is kind of a drama queen.
Defries has been on the swim team this fall and is also in the color guard so she’s getting ready for the Litchfield High School Marching Band indoor concert besides rehearsing this fall for “High School Musical.”
