Town Ball Tour Night
The Litchfield Visitor’s Bureau has a goal of promoting events that will bring people to the Litchfield area. An event on June 28th – Town Ball Tour Night – is likely to bring a lot of people to Litchfield.
Eric Hulterstrum from the Litchfield Baseball Association says Fox-9 will be at the Blues Baseball game the evening of June 28th, and Bruce Hamm will be serving pork chops – along with the regular concessions. He says there will be a charge for the food, but admission to the game is free that night, and spectators will enjoy the new seats at Optimist Park.
Hulterstrum says people will be coming from all over to attend the June 28th event. He says it will be a good rehearsal for the state amateur baseball tournament in August. Zach Piepenburg says the day will begin (June 28th) with a French toast and sausage breakfast at the Legion Club from 7:30-to-10:30 a.m. and the Fox-9 morning crew will be there. He says there will be a Legion game – versus Maple Lake at 4 p.m., and then a petting zoo and an appearance by the Litchfield High School Marching Band prior to the Blues vs. Maple Lake game at 7 p.m.
Piepenburg says there is more information at litchfieldblues.com or on social media – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He says they are looking for volunteers to help with the state amateur baseball tournament in August.
Piepenburg says there will also be an ag theme during the June 28th game. Judy Hulterstrum says with all of the visitors coming to Litchfield on June 28th, it will be a good excuse to spruce up the town.
Hulterstrum says Litchfield will be a busy place in July and August with Watercade, the Litchfield Community Theatre production of “Robin Hood and the White Arrow,” the Meeker County Fair, Songs of Summer Festival, State Amateur Baseball Tournament, Minnesota Trappers Association convention, ABATE motorcycle rally and more.
