Twelve Bands Performing at Parade of Bands

The Litchfield Parade of Bands will be held one week from today – on June 17th – at 6 p.m. Twelve bands will be performing.
Shane Zeppelin says the Class-A bands will include Benson, Richfield, Albany, KMS and Foley; the Class-AA bands will include Dassel-Cokato, Milaca and Sartell-St. Stephen; and the AAA bands will include Owatonna, St. Michael-Albertville and Champlin Park, and then host Litchfield will be the last band to perform. He says the parade route is from 10th Street and Armstrong Avenue, south on Armstrong to 5th Street, then east on 5th to Gilman Avenue, and then north on Gilman.
Zeppelin says there will be food trucks set up on 6th Street between Armstrong and Gilman Avenues with some setting up in time for lunch, some setting up by mid-afternoon and some setting up at 4:30 in time for supper. He says there will be 3 performing areas – in front of Wagner School, mid-way on 5th Street and on Gilman Avenue near the softball field and it will be live-streamed – thanks to Vibrant Broadband – on Facebook and You Tube.
Zeppelin says they will be marking out some areas at the end of this week for the judges, VIP and cameras so if anyone puts blankets in those areas, they will be moved. He says there are a lot of sponsors who help make the event possible. For more information, go to litchfieldmn.com or call the Chamber office at 693-8184.
