Watercade Queen Candidate Ayda Granlund
The 67th annual Litchfield Watercade celebration is coming up July 6th through the 9th. Three candidates are vying for the title of Miss Litchfield and the new queen will be crowned during the coronation on July 9th at 3 p.m. in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium.
Candidate number-3 is Ayda Granlund – daughter of Jess & Melissa Granlund. Her sponsor is Blue Stem Wealth Partners. She says she always attended the Watercade coronations since she was a little girl and knew that she would run for Miss Litchfield someday.
Granlund says she will be a senior at Litchfield High School, but is doing post-secondary at Ridgewater, so once she finishes her general credits, she’s hoping to eventually go into a nursing or law enforcement career. She says she has been in theater, track & field and choir in high school. Ayda says she’s looking forward to the junior ambassador coronation on July 8th at 11 a.m. in Central Park, and she invites everyone to attend Art-in-the-Park on July 8th from 9-to-4.
Seven Litchfield 4th graders are running as Junior Ambassadors. Two of them spoke on KLFD yesterday. Kate Groskreutz is sponsored by Dolan, Besser & Geffre and she welcomes everyone to the talent contest on July 8th at 11:30 a.m. in Central Park. Aliza Hulstein is sponsored by GVL Poly and she is inviting people to attend the bike dig on July 8th at 9 a.m. at Lake Ripley Beach. For more Watercade information, go to watercade.com.
