Ecumen of Litchfield staff will be involved in a senior expo on September 23rd in Hutchinson. It will be held at Peace Lutheran Church that day – starting at 8:30 a.m.
Ecumen Home Care and Hospice Care Consultant Jillian Miller says they are part of the Meeker-McLeod service provider group which is coordinating the senior expo on September 23rd. She says it’s free, but it’s first come, first served, and there will be breakfast, vendors, live entertainment and prizes.

The 15th annual Beno Blue Line Club Golf Tournament will be on August 23rd at 10 a.m. at the Litchfield Golf Club. It’s composed of foursomes and your fee includes golf, a cart, prizes and lunch with proceeds going to youth hockey.
Jeff Woods says there’s still room for your team to sign up and they will tee off at 10 a.m. and then at 3:30, there will be food served at Prospects as the winners of the raffle and silent auction are announced. He says 100% of the proceeds go to help defray costs of youth hockey in Litchfield, Dassel and Cokato, and this year, they have a goal of especially helping the Mite program – keeping the expenses as low as possible.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on Saturday night in New London Township in Kandiyohi County. The incident was reported at 8:31 p.m. at Highway 9 and 71st Street Northeast. The 2025 Kawasaki ZX400 was eastbound on Highway 9 and ran off the roadway. The driver, 26-year-old Anthony James Ribich of Willmar was taken to the hospital in Willmar with non-life-threatening injuries. Also responding to the scene were the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and New London Ambulance.
On Thursday night at 8:32 P.M., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a watercraft operator reporting a vehicle that was in the Horseshoe Lake and it was believed there was a person inside. The caller said it was near the bridge, in the 2000 Block of Edgeton Road in Munson Township – about four miles south of Richmond.
Stearns County Deputies and Cold Spring/Richmond Police Officers arrived and quickly entered the water to assist the citizens in extricating 23-year-old Tate William Lehnen of Rice from the vehicle. Deputies and officers quickly brought Lehnen to shore and started performing lifesaving measures. Eden Valley Rescue and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service arrived shortly after and continued lifesaving interventions. Lehnen was pronounced deceased by paramedics.
Members of the Stearns/Benton Dive team were also deployed to check for any other possible passengers. It’s believed the 2012 Chevrolet Impala Lehnen was driving was traveling eastbound on Edgeton Road when it overcorrected in a left-hand curve, crossed over the oncoming lane, and drove into the steep ditch leading to Horseshoe Lake.
Lehnen was later transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Stearns/Benton Dive Team, Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Eden Valley Fire and Rescue, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service.
