The G.A.R. Hall hosted an event last night that was coordinated by the Minnesota Humanities Center regarding the Declaration of Independence as the 250 anniversary of the founding of America continues. The Civil War Roundtable meeting next Thursday will continue the 250th anniversary theme.
Meeker County Museum Executive Director Danelle Erickson says the Roundtable meeting at the G.A.R. Hall begins at 1:30 p.m. on November 12th. She says the guest speaker will be Win Anderson from the St. Cloud area.
Erickson says the museum will be open on Veteran’s Day which is appropriate as the G.A.R. Hall was founded by veterans, so the museum would be a great place for people to visit on November 11th. She says the museum will be closed on Thanksgiving and the rest of that holiday weekend.
Erickson says the annual meeting of the Meeker County Historical Society will be on December 3rd at 6 p.m., starting with a potluck supper. She says the G.A.R. Hall and Meeker County Museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10-to-4 and Saturdays from noon-to-4. For more information, go to meekercomuseum.org or find their Facebook page.
